In 2015 at 19 she published her first single here. It went down a storm and received praise from critics and listeners alike. The song peaked at 19th at both Canadian Hot 100 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the track as one of the year's Best Songs. That same year, she released her debut album Know It All with the third track Scars to Your Beautiful being one of five original tracks that reached the heights of Billboard charts including Billboard Hot 100 and the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. This particular song was special due to her interview with rapper Rap-Up, many of the listeners connected to her experience of self-doubt, and her journey to learn how to appreciate herself. Cara's music is renowned for the messages it conveys of kindness, self-love and mental health. Her music is inspired by her own personal experiences as she been battling mental health issues and insomnia. In a recent interview with Reuters she declared her album "half chaotic" and "half finished". Therapy helped her grow and urges her fans to seek help if necessary. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on the 11th of July 1996. When she was just 10 years old her parents gave her a guitar which became the foundation of her passion for music. She began to cover her favorite songs when she was 13 to prove to everyone that she was a singer with the ability and confidence that was required to become a performer. The cover she did, Sweater Weather, was the one that got her attention. EP Entertainment gave her the opportunity to create and sing her own tunes.
