Amanda Brugel
Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 (February 27, 2010) Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet town that is located in the West Island, which is part of the Montreal island. The West Island can be confusing to people unfamiliar of its purpose. Many people believe that it's an island to the that lies west of Montreal, but it is actually a part of the city. West Island encompasses everything between the cities in Lachine and West. Amanda Brugel grew up on the West Island, and it is commonly called her birthplace. But she only stayed there for a short duration. Brugel became a woman of a certain age in Courtice Ontario, outside Oshawa. She was determined to be a professional dancer, but due to an explosive increase in her height, she outgrew every dance partner she met. She admitted in an article written by The Toronto Star that she is 6'1" tall and wears heels. After I became too big for my male partners I stopped. A lot of dancers go from dancing to acting. In the case of Bruce, it was her drama teacher who nudged her into this path. Teacher who recommended she try to find a role in school's annual play. She tried out and was eventually cast as the leading role of Anne of Green Gables. When she was awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she enrolled in York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in the year 2000. In the last 20 years, the roles played by Brugel on television and the big screen have been numerous. The character of Rita from the award winning series The Handmaid's Tale was her most famous. Brugel was the sole Canadian actor on the show in the season 1 and only appeared on occasion.
